Fast growing residential areas displace natural environment in large swaths. It is imperative these new developments are "greened up" as quickly as possible to mitigate the urban heat sink effect. Large scale deforestation leads to increases in continental warming. It would be useful for urban developers to consider clearing land for roads and housing while maintaining a higher balance of natural mature native tree growth within these areas.
